MOTTO: LOVE, TRUTH &EXCELLENCE
FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK
My interest in grass-root organization extends back to my youth, watching my father at the palace in Oyo. He thought us that leadership means serving. I am thankful to almighty father, and the founding father of this unique organization called Ibarapa Oyo Pacesetters. All our members have shown true loyalty and dedication to the goals of this organization.
Your characters are exemplary and your spirit of giving back to your community and those lesser than us back home has demonstrated to me that you are true sons and daughters of Oranmiyan.
Sincere thanks to all of our officers and members for honoring me to serve as your president, I have learnt quite a lot from all of you. “ A ji se bi Oyo laa ri, Oyo ki se bi enikan

Sooner than later, Ibarapa-Oyo Pacesetters organization was born and since then, membership of the club has been growing, we are very proud today to recognize our organization as a founding member organization under the umbrella of “Alliance of Yoruba Organizations.”
Many people had benefited from this organization both at home, Nigeria as well as here in the United States. Ibarapa-Oyo Pacesetters as been recognized as non-political organization whose other objectives include investing in business ventures to promote social, economic, and other cultural heritage as future dictate.
This organization is guided by a constitution approved by 2/3 majority of members: hence out constitution stipulates rules and regulations needed for day-to-day activities as well as for advancement of our people. Our motto: Love, Truth and Excellence, says a lot about who we are, and what we stand for. We love not only ourselves but also everybody around us. And because of our love for one another, we are very truthful in all our dealing with other people, which enable us to excel, in all that we do at Ibarapa- Oyo Pacesetters.
INTRODUCTION
We the Ibarapa-Oyo Pacesetters are indigenes of Ibarapa, Oyo and Oyo North in Oyo state, Nigeria, who reside in the Washington Metropolitan area. Our members hail from the following local government areas in Oyo state: Atisbo, Ifelodun, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa, Irepo, Iseyin, Lanlate, Okeho, Oyo, Saki East and Saki West.
Our club was formed in January 1988 with the main goal of catering for the welfare of indigenes of our area both here in the United States and at home in Nigeria. To this end, we have several projects aimed at improving the quality of life in the towns and villages from which each one of us comes from.
One of these projects, “The School Aid Project,” is aimed at providing schools supplies for elementary school population. Each year the entire student population of at least two primary schools that any of our members attended are chosen to be the recipients of exercise books and pencils. This, we believe will relieve parents of some of these schools the burden of providing for their children’s education.
IOP is a non-political organization and do not endorse any particular part or candidate. We do however, encourage our members and all Yoruba people to be politically aware and responsible, and to make the Yoruba people and the nation a priority when making their political decisions.
